Sodium and Water Softeners
Sodium and Water Softening Systems
Sodium byproducts from water softening systems are produced in very small traceable amounts.
For example, if you drink 3 quarts of water per day, the salt intake would be less than contained in two slices of white bread. That would be about 4.3% of the average recommended daily intake of sodium as being attributed to water intake.
In general, the sodium produced by water softening systems is negligible for the suggested daily sodium intake by humans.
We recommend that you consult your physician if you have questions about your sodium intake.
